Kirti Toran

If there is any beautiful art form not only for Vadnagar or Gujarat but for the whole of India which can take pride in its art, it is the glorious toran of Vadnagar. It is popularly known as Narasimha Mehta's theft.

These victory arches, known as Kirti Torans, stand tall on the western shores of Lake Sharmishtha, evoking Vadnagar's history. These stunning columns, which stand 40 feet tall and support an arch, are a sight to behold. Red and yellow sandstone were used to construct them. Solanki torans, or entrance gates, are said to be a common part of their construction. Battle and hunting scenes are engraved into them. These torans in Vadnagar are recognised as the official symbol of Gujarat due to their splendor and historical significance. Some people believe that these torans are part of a large temple complex, although no further ruins have been discovered nearby to support this theory.
